The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of the Guyana Office for Investment (GO-Invest) are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Ivor Mitchell.
In the two years Dr. Mitchell served as Managing Director of Go-Invest, from 1995 to 1997, he contributed significantly to the principles on which the Agency operates. His dedicated hard work provided significant guidance to the Agency in its early years, which involved marketing Guyana to investors around the world.
He approached his responsibilities at GO-Invest with professionalism, dedication and a spirit of generosity. Those who worked with him were privileged to do so as he was an inspirational educator who encouraged his staff to further their education whenever possible. His memory will stay alive in the continued works of GO-Invest.
Dr. Mitchell was passionate about his research work which included market segmentation, beverage buyer behaviour, and economic development theory and modelling. He also researched marketing in Nigeria and Guyana, consumer shopping behaviour in Guyana, consumer banking behaviour in Guyana, cross-country growth analysis, and market reform and adjustment in developing nations.
The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of GO-Invest extend their deepest condolences to the loved ones of Dr. Mitchell, with the hope that his teachings, inspiration and passion will bring comfort in their time of grief.Share
