Prime Minister’s Visit to New York – January 15-18, 2016
Queens, New York, Sat Jan 16, 2016 9 am Business & Investments Breakfast ……..The Guyanese Prime Minister’s speech smoothly evolved into aspects of business and economic opportunities currently available to investors. He invited business oriented individuals to take advantage of the opportunities to invest in agro processing, mining, infrastructural development, agriculture, fishery, forestry, services and other sectors of the economy. Mr. Nagamootoo made a strong pitch to the New York
business community, reiterating the multitude of incentives the APNU AFC government is prepared to offer to investors. An important point to note is that the Prime Minister emphasized that foreign investors will not be given treatment which Guyanese residing in Guyana will not be able to access. He stressed his government’s policy to level the business playing field for all investors, local as well as foreign.
Remarks by the Honorable Minister of Business
While I cannot be here physically, it gives me great pleasure to be able to share these words with you on this special occasion.
The Ministry of Business intends to work diligently towards showing the world that Guyana Means Business. In the year of National Renaissance and a time of national
unity, it is imperative that the Guyanese diaspora is given an avenue to participate in the unification and rebirth of Guyana and its peoples. Members of the diaspora are uniquely positioned to bring their experience, expertise and good practices to the Guyanese economy and we at the Ministry of Business see the immense potential of your involvement in doing business in Guyana. We therefore encourage you to explore opportunities for investing in Guyana. The Ministry of Business understands the value of your community in our quest to revitalize the Guyanese economy. Our job is to create favorable conditions in which investors can prosper. You can be part of this new economy.
This event has my full support and I wish it all success.
